Melanie Winters

New Board Member

My name is Melanie Winters and I am a Philosophy and Religious Studies double major. I used to play rugby, and plan on joining the team again in the spring of 2010, because I am studying abroad in Spain in the fall of 2009. I am involved in a variety of clubs on campus, including: SAVE, Model U.N, Holocaust Remembrance Committee, Philosophy Club, etc. What really motivated me to join the Women's Center was Professor Kibler's "Gender Perspectives" course (highly recommend it). I had always been involved in women's issues- interning at My Sisters' Place (a non-profit in NY against domestic violence) in the summer of 2008. Members of the Women's Center were in my class and suggested I stop by a Friday discussion...I have been going ever since.
