Ocha no Jikan (Tea Hour)

Every Monday, 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm , people who are interested in Japanese Culture and Language gather and enjoy Japanese tea and snacks while chatting with each other in Japanese. Japanese games are played and movies are watched so that the culture can be more fully experienced. Everyone is welcome, all level of Japanese speakers, so please come and help make Ocha no Jikan more fun!

ShyoHou (Calligraphy)

Calligraphy is an artform, it is how well one can write out Kanji with a brush and black ink. Calligraphy can be done anytime, however, on New Year's Day there is also a tradition to write calligraphy. Calligraphy written on that day is called Kakizome, or First Writing (of the year). Japanese Students are given a chance to write during class during January, and other members of the F&M Community during Ocha no Jikan.
