SEXUAL ASSAULT VIOLENCE EDUCATION (SAVE)!

SAVE is an active student group on campus dedicated to educating women and men about sexual assault and dating and domestic violence

at Franklin & Marshall and nationally.

Each year SAVE sponsors:

  • The Red Zone in September. This is a period until Thanksgiving break when first-year women are most likely to be sexually assaulted. During this time, we raise awareness of the Red Zone and facilitate discussions on how men and women can work together to prevent sexual assault, especially acquaintance rape.
  • The Week Without Violence in October. We have a speaker and also sponsor the Clothesline Project and other activities.
  • V-Day in February. We join the international college campaign to stop violence to women and girls via fundraising events and the production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues”.
  • Take Back the Night in March. One of the largest and most popular spring events on campus, the evening features a speaker, candlelight march and open mic session.
  • Film events and discussions to learn more about the issues surrounding sexual assault and violence against women.
  • Volunteer opportunities with the local women’s shelter and other organizations that serve women and children.
