Chris Keeney Adjunct Instructor Music, Guitar

Biography

Chris earned his Bachelor of Music (with emphasis in Recording Technology) from Lebanon Valley College in 2004.   Since then, he has worked as a performer, teacher, and recording engineer throughout the northeast.

In addition to his work at F&M, Chris is also head of the guitar program at Lancaster Bible College.  Previously, he ran the guitar program, as well as taught recording courses, at Albright College from 2005-2010.

As a player, Chris has been fortunate to have had a wide range of gigging and touring opportunities.  Over the years, he’s played with many jazz and rock groups, toured in extreme metal bands, played in regional orchestras, and joined backing bands for national and international artists.  He's also done a significant amount of studio tracking work as both a guitarist and bassist.  In addition to guitar, Chris also plays "most instruments with strings," and performs regularly on the oud (a fretless Middle Eastern instrument that predates the guitar by a few thousand years).

Since 2010, Chris has been heavily involved in the theater world in Central PA.  Beginning at American Music Theater, he’s worked with  (and continues to work with) AMT, Prima, Servant Stage, and others.  Since mid-2017, Chris has been the primary guitarist at the Fulton Theatre in downtown Lancaster.

Chris is also currently a mixing/mastering engineer for Immersive Music Media Group, a post-production studio in Lancaster.
