About Us

We know that advising encompasses more than just checking boxes, and our 18 Fellow Advising Mentors (FAMs) are ready to launch first-year students with turbo-charged mentoring.

FAMs introduce new students to the many resources available at F&M, talk about the deep questions of life, and provide tips on where to shop for dorm rooms. FAMs help new students navigate the academic culture at F&M, explaining how to add or drop a class, use CANVAS, and choose that perfect schedule. Perhaps most importantly, FAMs listen to your story and help you craft an academic path perfectly tailored to suit you. The FAMs can't wait to get you started on your journey at F&M!

My name’s Brahm. I’m from Buffalo, NY and am a rising senior at F&M. I’m a BOS major and Economics minor interested in fashion and design. I studied abroad for a semester in Paris, France. On campus I play on the Squash team, am a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity, and an editor/graphic designer for Boy-Band magazine. In my spare time I enjoy writing and videography, watching “Seinfeld” or “Peaky Blinders,” and hitting the links. I also came to F&M from an all-guys private high-school, so college life was quite the transition. I soon discovered much of what F&M has to offer me, and hope to help new students find their own passions as a Diplomat!

Hi guys! I'm Sofia. I'm so excited to be part of the FAM team, and to work with you as your mentor! I am a rising Senior and Creative Writing Major here at F&M.

A few of my favorites are Square One Coffee, Mean Cup, and Prince Street Cafe. I'm really looking forward to meeting you and helping you pave your own path here at F&M. See you soon!

COLIN LAVIGNE '22
clavigne@fandm.edu

Hello all, my name is Colin and I am one of the Fellow Advising Mentors for the 2020-2021 academic year. I am from Asbury, New Jersey and will be a junior at F&M this coming year. At Franklin & Marshall, I am a biology major on the Pre-Med track with the hope of attending PA school after my undergraduate years. However, you will not only find me sweating in the classroom as a Diplomat, but also across the street, at Shadek Stadium, as I am also a member of the football team. In my free time, you can often find me in LSP chatting with our awesome Sodexo employees, Kim and Angie, throwing frisbee on Hartman green, or at the Wendy’s on Race Avenue when campus food gets a bit stale. Once nose blind to the faint smell of manure on the way in, you will soon realize Lancaster county, along with F&M, contains numerous places of interest waiting to be discovered. I look forward to facilitating your first-year experience at F&M, and exploration of the Red Rose City. Welcome!
