We know that advising encompasses more than just checking boxes, and our 26 First-Year Advising Mentors (FAMs) are ready to launch first-year students with turbo-charged mentoring.

What Does Your FAM Do?

Your FAM will be an important resource to you throughout your F&M journey. To start, they’ll assist you with onboarding and learning F&M's academic culture. FAMs are also ready to help you add or drop a class and choose that perfect schedule, use Canvas, and more. FAMs will introduce you to the many resources available at F&M, talk about the deep questions of life, and provide tips on where to shop for your new room. Perhaps most importantly, FAMs listen to your story and help you craft a distinctive academic path that suits your interests.

The FAMs can't wait to get you started on your journey at F&M!
