Robot Proof Summer Book Club: Pizza and Perspectives

AI Summer Teaching Innovation Fellows Showcase

The AI Teaching Innovation Summer Fellows program invited F&M faculty to develop new courses or redesign existing ones to prepare students for an AI-shaped world. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, faculty explored AI’s applications and social and ethical implications while receiving structured guidance, peer feedback, and dedicated course-development time.

This Common Hour event featured Marc Dantzker, PhD, founder and executive director of FishEye Collaborative, an emerging conservation technology non-profit specializing in marine conservation bioacoustics. Dantzker discussed how novel recording and computing technologies are turning natural history into a powerful tool for ocean conservation.
Micrographica: Imagined Realities

An exhibition at F&M’s Phillips Museum of Art showcases Jeremiah Chechik’s “Micrographica,” a body of work combining fine art photography and artificial intelligence to explore the shifting boundary between fact and fiction. Chechik is a Canadian-born artist based in Venice, California, whose career spans fashion photography, music videos, film, and television.

F&M Unprompted: What Happens When We Choose Not to Use AI?

As AI proliferates into humans’ daily lives, often without our active consent, F&M Unprompted invites the campus community to step back, reflect, and reclaim our power and agency to engage with AI more intentionally. Held every fall and spring, the F&M Student Research Fair showcases student and faculty collaboration in action. The College will invite Lancaster Mayor Jaime Arroyo and F&M alumnus Akbar Hossain ’13, Pennsylvania Secretary for Policy and Planning, to campus for a conversation with the F&M community. The two will discuss how state and local policymakers can respond to the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities that AI presents to the communities they serve.
AI Literacy and Implementation Poster Session

AI Literacy and Implementation is a six-session badge program designed to help F&M employees build the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to use artificial intelligence safely and effectively in their work. Those participating in the AI Literacy and Implementation training program will build an AI solution for their department and share their project at a poster session.
