Who is SAGA?

The Sexuality and Gender Alliance is a student-run organization dedicated to building a community and providing a safe space for LGBTQ+ students! Our meetings are normally held in the Alice Drum Women's Center, where we work on building friendships within the community through games, crafts, and conversation. We've also hosted community Discord servers, where students can get connected, send each other memes and videos, and ask questions about subjects such as course registration and the local community.

When we're not hosting regular meetings, we often hold on-campus events where we learn about LGBTQ history, identity, and contemporary issues. Past events include our annual drag show, the "Everybody, Every Body" art show, an exhibition on the Stonewall Riots, and more! We also honor many LGBTQ+ visibility days, including Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR), National Coming Out Day, and various visibility weeks.

As of the fall of 2019, we are also an agency of Diplomatic Congress (the F&M student government), representing the LGBTQIA+ student population on campus in proposing change. If you would like to enact change for the LGBTQ+ community, consider running for a leadership position in the fall!
