Who are we?
S.I.S.T.E.R.S. stands for Sophisticated, Intelligent, Sisters Teaching Excellence, Responsibility, and Success. We are an all women's organization on campus that provides one-on-one sisterly support through our Big-Little program and overall safe space to form a bond through our many meetings. We hold intense discussions every Tuesday evening about issues that we, as women from diverse backgrounds, face.
Every year SISTERS hosts its annual philanthropy event, the Pink Tie Ball. To cap off each Spring semester, we hold this event to raise money for a charity of choice, with all proceeds from the ticket sales and live auction going to the beneficiary. This year, SISTERS 15th Anniversary, we are helping to support the Milagro House, an organization which provides education, housing and support services for women and their children who would otherwise be experiencing homelessness.
Weekly Meetings
Every Tuesday we "Dress to Impress," which means dressing professionally for the day to classes, meetings, and anything else that comes in your daily schedule. Our usual meeting time is at 6pm, so we can all partake in an engaging conversation while dressed nicely.
Bonding Events
Once or twice throughout the semester, we try to bring all the SISTERS together for a bonding event. Previously, we've gone skating, held a game night, a movie night, and even a joint trip with IMPACT for midnight bowling.
Community Service
SISTERS takes pride in being able to join together to lend a helping hand to those in need in the Lancaster community. As a women empowerment group whose members come from many different walks of life, we understand the importance of standing with our neighbors, and we have a lot of fun doing it.
