Lux et Lex Walk
Tuesday, May 4, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Hartman Green (immediately following The Last Lecture)
Departing seniors will conduct their final march in their regalia across campus and through the “Lux et Lex” archway to symbolize their transition from students to alumni. As the graduates parade through campus, faculty, professional staff, and students in other class years will line the route to cheer on the Class of 2021.
The archway at Klauder Apple Wallway is located between Dietz and Meyran halls. The brick columns supporting the arch contain eight bricks taken from Old Main that the Class of 2008 chose to represent the College's core values: community, innovation, excellence, leadership, service, loyalty, philanthropy and tradition. In the metal arch is F&M's motto: "Lux et Lex" (Latin for Light and Law).
A plaque on one of the arch's column's reads, in part: "May all who pass through this archway fondly remember their time at Franklin & Marshall."
