Weather permitting, the ceremony is held on Hartman Green in the center of campus. Should we have inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center (ASFC). Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Updated information can be found on the day of the ceremony by checking the College website or by calling 717-358-3848.
Do we need tickets for the Ceremony?
No, tickets are not required, and there is no limit to the number of seats available for families for the ceremony even if it is held inside, but we do recommend that you arrive early to find your seats.
Where do I park the day of the Ceremony?
There are multiple parking lots available during the weekend. Signage will be visible along Harrisburg Avenue and West Liberty Street, and we will also be using remote parking on the North Campus, with shuttle service to campus. Appropriate signage will indicate these options, and there is also a parking map on the Commencement website.
To access the North Campus parking areas and avoid traffic on Harrisburg Avenue, we encourage you to take PA72/Manheim Pike to the Fruitville Pike Intersection, take a right onto Fruitville Pike/Prince Street, travel a few blocks then turn right onto West Liberty Street. You can also google directions using 313 West Liberty Street, Lancaster PA 17603 as a reference point.
Is there special parking and seating for handicapped guests?
Yes, there is a convenient drop-off location, and special parking and seating for handicapped guests. If you or a guest requires special accommodations, please contact Carole D’Ettorre at email@example.com or at (717) 358-5916. They can assist in arranging for special accommodations.
Can we stay overnight on campus?
The College is making space available in the residence halls for parents and guests. Rooms will be available Friday & Saturday, May 12 & 13. Check-in at Old Main, Room 122 from noon until 4:00 pm on Friday and check out by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14. If you arrive after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, please notify Lori Foust at firstname.lastname@example.org so that your key packet can be taken to the Office of Public Safety off Race Avenue for pick up. Room rates are $30 per person for double occupancy and $40 per person for single occupancy. Bed linens are provided but towels and shower supplies will not be available. The reservations can be made online .
While parents and guests often enjoy this opportunity to be “in residence,” please understand that residence halls do not offer private and personal accommodations. For those uncomfortable with a group living environment, we recommend making off-campus arrangements.
