Dining

Great food, honest values, and a comfortable atmosphere can be found in every F&M campus dining location — all conveniently located within walking distance of on-campus housing, labs and classrooms!

Our Dining Locations

The Restaurants at Ben Franklin

F&M’s primary dining facility, the Restaurants at Ben Franklin (referred to as D-Hall by students) is conveniently located in the residential quad on campus. The entire dining hall is a nut-free facility and is home to several delicious food stations including Restaurante Verde (featuring pizza made with made-from-scratch hand-tossed pizza dough and made-to-order pasta dishes), Kite and Key (the grill and deli station), Sustenance (where you can find items like fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, chicken pot pie and more) and KIVO (which stands for Kosher, International, Vegan and Organic).

The Diplomatic Café

This fan favorite is your destination for hot and cold beverages, fresh sandwiches, and other fast-casual eats. The Diplomatic Cafe is a proud server of Square One Roasters, a local coffee supplier committed to responsibly farmed, sustainably sourced coffee.

Steinman College Center

Considered the “living room” of the College, Steinman College Center is another popular location for delicious meals. You can stop by and enjoy Handcrafted (featuring homemade soups, a full, self-serve salad bar, artisanal sandwiches and build-your-own grain bowls), The Grill Off the Green (where you can enjoy a variety of traditional grill options such as breakfast sandwiches, chicken fingers, burgers, quesadillas and grilled sandwiches) and Mein Bowl (which features healthy, fresh, made-to-order Asian cuisine including sushi rolls and build-your-own bowls).

Our Meal Plans

First-year students are required to purchase a meal plan unless you are commuting (though you can of course purchase a meal plan if you are!). Meal plan pricing is automatically enrolled into your tuition details.

Dietary Accommodations

The chefs on campus work closely with those who have specific dietary needs due to allergen restrictions, religious affiliation, lifestyle choices or other dietary restrictions.

If you require a specific dietary need due to allergies, Simple Servings is a gluten-free station on campus that serves a variety of delicious meals that don’t include any of the top allergens, with the exclusion of fin-fish. This station is also gluten-free. The entire dining hall is a nut-free facility, and gluten-free options are available in our retail locations.

If you keep Kosher or Halal, we have an area in the dining hall called KIVO, which stands for Kosher, International, Vegan, and Organic. This space is a Star K certified kosher dining facility, and also houses Trellis, our entirely plant-based dining option.

If you have other dietary restrictions, our chefs and our dietitian work closely with the Office of Student Accessibility Services to assist you with those restrictions to ensure you have nutritious and delicious meals while at F&M.
