Service Saturdays
Volunteer to work alongside other F&M students while also learning about different needs, issues and interests that matter to the local community. Service projects, off-campus destinations and time commitment will vary.
Though most events are held on Saturdays, some may also be on Sundays or Friday evenings depending on the community partner.

GenConnect
Make someone’s day by volunteering to spend a Friday afternoon visiting with residents at Brethren Village Retirement Community while playing games and/or working on craft projects. Volunteer once or join us every month from 1:00– 4:00 pm.

F&M Community Service
Care about your Lancaster neighbors and want to contribute to local efforts? Join F&M faculty, staff, and students to plant trees, serve at local food banks, maintain trails, and do other tasks that make a difference.

SEPTEMBER
United Way Day of Caring

8:30-12:00 pm
F&M students volunteered at Buchanan Park--right in our backyard as a part of the United Way's Day of Caring! Participants helped to paint the dog park bridge and mulch the children's playground. Volunteers enjoyed the beautiful weather and interacting with community members--a great way to kick off the school year!

Wittel Farms!

Volunteers harvested 200 pounds of potatoes and 300 pounds of peppers. Students worked alongside St. Peters Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg to harvest fresh vegetables to share with the Lancaster Community!
Tree Planting with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay

Participants traveled to Mount Joy, PA to help plant trees with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. Volunteers planted 275 trees!

Volunteers assisted with the upkeep of the nature preserve and helped the Lancaster Conservancy with tasks such as trail maintenance, cleaning up the site, and more. Transportation was provided for all participants.
