Josephine de Karman Fellowship for juniors with outstanding academic performance in any discipline, especially the Humanities. Deadline: postmarked by January 31.

Seniors and alumni

Allen Lee Hughes Fellowship for recent graduates pursuing careers in artistic and technical production, arts administration, arts education and community outreach. Application opens November.

Asian Cultural Council for alumni who are permanent residents or citizens in Asia or the United States. Applicants must be either professional artists or scholars, or a graduate/post-graduate student in a related field, pursuing research or training outside of their home country. Deadline: December 1.

BMI John Lennon Scholarship for first-years, sophomores, juniors, seniors or alumni, who are songwriters. Deadline: February 1.

DAAD Graduate Study Award for seniors or alumni pursuing an independent study or M.A.at a German University or as part of a master's degree program completed in the home country. Includes creative and performing arts. Must be a US or Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or an international student earning their bachelor's degree in the US or Canada. Deadline: November 4.

FAO Schwarz Fellowship for graduating seniors interested in pursuing a career in the non-profit sector. This two-year paid fellowship places awardees at participating non-profits, and provides professional training and mentoring. This fellowship posts positions by November 1. Application deadline is February 15.

Fulbright Fellowships* for seniors or alumni interested in either teaching English abroad or pursuing study or research in one of a 140+ countries. Applications opens in April and the campus deadline for the 2019-2020 cohort: Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Gates Cambridge Scholarship for non-UK seniors or alumni pursuing a postgraduate degree in any subject at Cambridge University. Deadline for US citizens: October 11; deadline for non-US Citizens: December 7.

James Madison Graduate Fellowship* for seniors or alumni pursuing a master’s degree in American History, American Government, or social studies, who will teach the American Constitution in any grade between seventh and twelfth. Deadline: March 1. Campus contact:  Prof.  Bond.

Knowles Science Teaching Fellowship for seniors or alumni pursuing teaching credentials committed to teaching in the US. Deadline: November 27.

Marshall Scholarship (Great Britain)* for seniors or alumni interested in graduate study in the UK. Minimum GPA of 3.7 required. See Professor Cable for more information. Campus Deadline: September 15.

Rhodes for US Citizens and Permanent Residents (Great Britain)* for seniors or alumni interested in graduate study at the University of Oxford in any field. Campus deadline: September 15.

Rhodes for non-US Citizens for seniors or alumni who are citizens of any one of the following countries to pursue graduate study at the University of Oxford: Australia, Bermuda, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Jamaica and Commonwealth Caribbean, Kenya, New Zealand, Pakistan, Southern Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Deadline: Varies by country.

(Paul & Daisy) Soros Fellowship for New Americans for seniors or alumni who are permanent residents, naturalized citizens, child of naturalized citizens, or DACA recipients pursuing graduate study in any field and any degree-granting institution in the United States. Deadline: November 1.

St. Andrew's Scholarship for Graduate Study in Scotland for seniors who are US citizens with some Scottish descent to pursue graduate study in Scotland. Deadline: Campus Deadline: December 1. Must apply through F&M. Contact Prof. Cable.
