Drawing in / Drawing out: Contemporary Drawing brings together 12 artists whose methods and materials expand the notion of drawing as a discrete artmaking practice. This exhibition features the work of contemporary artists Matt Bollinger, Amanda Burnham, Cindy Cheng, Lisa Iglesias, Hedieh Javanshir Ilchi, Sangram Majumdar, Cara Ober, Mary Reisenwitz, Molly Springfield, Pamela Phatsimo Sunstrum, René Treviño and Vicki Sher. Each artist draws on their own experience and perspective to explore the wide range of methodologies being practiced today. Their works vary from observation to abstraction, some “drawing in” and some “drawing out.”
