Time to Get Fit 

The Athletic and Recreation Department is pleased to announce its new Fitness Class schedule for Fall 2017.

This year we are working with the YMCA of Lancaster, to offer a variety of class options on campus.   Please see the schedule and class descriptions below. To give everyone a chance to try out the new options, classes held September 11-14th will be at no charge.  Maximum class size is 30 people.  If you are interested in trying out one of these classes, just come to the class.  Come a few minutes early to sign in.  If you like the class, use the registration link below to sign up for classes for the whole semester.

All classes will be held in The Student Health and Wellness Center-Community Rooms.

Registration

Registration for these classes is for the semester.  Fee is $80 for the semester for any one of the classes .  You are welcome to sign up for multiple classes.  We will need to have a minimum of 10 people registered for any given class in order for it to be offered for the semester.  Due to room space, we will only be able to accept 30 people into each class.

*No classes will be held on Monday and Tuesday of Fall break, 10/9-10/17.

Class Descriptions

Beginner Yoga: A concentrated breakdown of the breathing techniques and poses frequently found in yoga classes. A great place to start your practice or check back in to reaffirm the standard yoga asana series.  Instructor

Yoga: Integrate the spirit, mind and body.  Our Yoga classes incorporate centering meditation, Pranayama (breath work), warm ups, Asana (postures) and guided relaxation. These classes are tailored to fit the needs of beginner to advanced practitioner.

Boot Camp: Take fitness to a higher level! Improve your strength and muscle tone with interval exercises and body weight conditioning.  

POUND. Rockout. Workout.™: Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! Using lightly weighted drumsticks, POUND® transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.

Zumba®: Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program. Fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone your body while burning fat.

Join The Adult Swim Group 

When: Practices are Mondays and Wednesday from 12-1 at the AFSC.

Who: Open to all students, faculty, staff, and community members at least 18 years of age and older. *Must be able to swim 100 yards (4 lengths) without stopping.

What: Come swim with the F&M master's swimming group. Improve your swimming technique, reach your fitness goals, meet new friends and enjoy swimming!

Cost: $50/ month. Membership is month to month basis.
