  • history lesson e1316024447839

On March 10, 1972, the Ike & Tina Turner Review electrified the stage at Mayser Center as part of the spring Student Union Board (SUB) Concert Series. Tina and her backup singers, the Ikettes, thrilled the audience with their upbeat rendition of “Proud Mary” and poignant delivery of “Come Together.” Other acts to grace the Mayser Center stage that spring included Badfinger; the Beach Boys; Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP); and the New Riders of the Purple Sage.
