A Green Roof Grows in Lancaster

The “green” roof of the Wohlsen Center for the Sustainable Environment is full of color on a recent summer morning. One of five green roofs on the Franklin & Marshall campus, it includes several different varieties of sedums, such as Angelina, Fuldaglut, Tricolor and Weihenstephaner Gold. Green roofs reduce the energy required to cool and heat buildings, and retain water to decrease runoff during rainstorms.
