Nearly 200 Franklin & Marshall College students, faculty, professional staff and members of the Lancaster community came together Sept. 10 to discuss the crisis in Syria and prospect of American intervention in the Middle Eastern country. A faculty panel talk, “Interventions in Syria: An F&M Conversation,” touched upon historical context, diplomatic developments and chemical weaponry in Syria. Organized and moderated by Assistant Professor of Music Sylvia Alajaji (left), the panel also included (l-r) Visiting Assistant Professor of American Studies David Kieran, Associate Professor of Government Jennifer Kibbe and Assistant Professor of History Hoda Yousef. The event moved to F&M’s Lisa Bonchek Adams Auditorium in Kaufman Hall after the original venue, Weis College House, overflowed with attendees.
