Beyond Expression

This magazine article is part of Fall 2016/Issue 87

The Phillips Museum of Art showcased the diverse visual works of Franklin & Marshall faculty members throughout the fall semester in the Dana Gallery, which hosted the 2016 Faculty Biennial Exhibition. The exhibition featured paintings, sculpture, drawings, collage and photography by both current and emeriti faculty in the Department of Art & Art History who teach and mentor almost 550 students each year in studio art and art history courses.

“Their artwork is as much a glad expression of their ongoing learning as it is of their teaching,” said Tamara Goeglein, professor of English and interim director of the museum. “The Franklin & Marshall curriculum is at the heart of the Phillips Museum, and so I am grateful to my colleagues in the Department of Art & Art History for this exhibition.”
