Maya Greenshpan was born and raised in Jerusalem. She graduated from the Hebrew University High School, where she majored in Hebrew literature and Jewish History.

Maya lived for 15 years in Florence, Italy. After completing a degree in fine arts and graphic design, she worked as a graphic designer in the fashion industry, and as a Cultural Arts Assistant at the Jewish Community of Florence.

In the US Maya received a Bachelor's degree in communication from Elizabethtown College. She is currently pursuing a PHD in Jewish Instructional Education with Gratz College.

At Franklin & Marshall, Maya teaches elementary Hebrew as well as the Hebrew and Italian drill sessions. She has taught  300-level courses in Hebrew in collaboration with Prof. Di Giulio.
