Summer 2020 Travel Course - F&M in Japan: Kumamoto - Past, Present and Future
The objectives of this course include in-depth understanding of the uniqueness of Kumamoto, Japan, from historical, sociological, and cultural perspectives. Prior to departure, students will gain basic knowledge about the area and its significance in Japan and in the global community through reading and visual materials. In Kumamoto, in addition to such materials, more active learning will be incorporated. For example, students will visit the actual historical sites discussed in class in order to gain a more complete understanding of the history and culture of this region of Japan.
No pre-requisites. Kumamoto: Past, Present and Future will satisfy a Non-Western or Humanities requirement.
