Student Club Advisors

Who can be an advisor?

Advisors of OSEL Clubs and Organizations must be full-time employees at Franklin & Marshall College. Advisors are expected to contribute sound and mature judgment to the members in fulfilling the group's educational and social goals. All student organizations are encouraged to be recognized by the Club Council so they can be officially associated with F&M, gaining access to a variety of resources.

What is the role of an Advisor on Franklin & Marshall’s campus?

The faculty or staff advisor of a Club Council-recognized organization serves as the college's representative to that organization. The advisor should be aware of college regulations and policies involving recognized organizations, especially those regarding use of college facilities, alcoholic beverages, use of college vehicles, and official college travel. An OSEL representative is available to help interpret and understand college and OSEL regulations.
