We're so glad you're here!

We’re so glad you’re here at F&M as a pre-health student!  You’ll be working with the Director of Health Professions Advising at F&M throughout your time here and beyond.

There is no time limit on access to health professions advising and no fee for advising sessions for students or alumni. HPA provides advising, programming, and resources to help you develop the skills and experiences to be a competitive applicant for the health profession you want to pursue.

  • Advising

Advising topics include guidance on pre-requisite coursework, discussing ways to become a competitive applicant, networking opportunities with alumni, how to spend the summer, and more.  In-person, phone, and Skype appointments are available.  Click here to schedule an advising appointment.

  • Programming

Each semester, there are a number of events for pre-health students.  These are posted on the Office of Student and Post-Graduate Development calendar.  Highlights from last year include a Life as a Trauma Surgeon talk, admissions visits from Georgetown University School of Medicine, LECOM, and Salus University (formerly Pennsylvania College of Optometry), mock medical school classes, and more.

  • Resources

There is a Health Professions Advising Resource Center within Canvas. The site has modules on numerous topics including standardized test prep, summer opportunities, and more.  Students who do not currently have access to the site should email jflecken@fandm.edu so they will be sent an invitation to join it.
