Monthly Video – Check it Out!

Jason Cone, who graduated from F&M in 1999,  is now the chief public policy officer at the Robin Hood Foundation. He was previously the executive director of Doctors Without Borders when the video was filmed. Here's an interesting alumni spotlight video featuring Jason.

Upcoming Financial Aid Deadline

The deadline to apply for need-based financial aid during the 2020-2021 academic year is April 1, 2020. This process applies only to U.S. citizens and non-F-1-Visa students. The FAFSA, CSS/Profile and supporting materials uploaded via IDOC must be electronically date-stamped no later than April 1, 2020. For more information, visit F&M’s financial aid web page.

Course Registration for Fall 2020

Fall course registration is almost here for rising seniors, juniors and sophomores. The fall registration advising period is rapidly approaching! Ask your student if they have spoken with their adviser. Registration for Fall 2020 classes begins Monday evening, April 6; your student has received or will soon receive a time to register, based on their class status.

One key to success during the course registration process each semester is maintaining a consistent, positive relationship with one’s academic adviser. Most successful students do not wait for the advising period to have meaningful conversations about academic planning with their advisers. Instead, they pursue their adviser’s guidance throughout the year in addition to meeting with other faculty, College House dons and deans, and seeking help from the Office of Student and Post-Graduate Development.

F&M students have many sources of guidance, feedback and support. The more they take advantage of these opportunities, the more successfully they will navigate their F&M experience.

Reminder: Commencement Information for Parents of Seniors

As we mentioned last month, this is the time when parents of seniors are looking forward to Commencement Weekend at F&M, a celebratory time for all. You should have received an email from the College, providing important details for the weekend.

Our Commencement website will be regularly updated in the coming weeks. The website is a great source of information, including a very helpful Q&A section.

If you have not yet made hotel reservations, this page offers some options, while the Discover Lancaster site provides additional information

Winter Visual Arts Center Building Update

We told you last month that the Winter Visual Arts Center dedication weekend was scheduled for April. Unfortunately, work on this extraordinary building is taking a bit longer than originally planned, and the dedication weekend has been postponed until this fall. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available!

Check out pictures from the construction of the Winter Visual Arts Center here.

Raise Our Game this Month!

It's March, and that means it's time for Raise Our Game, the monthlong campaign to support Diplomat Athletics.

All 27 varsity Diplomat teams are challenging their supporters to help them meet specific goals. They need alumni, parents and friends behind them if they’re going to succeed.

To take a look at all the teams you have the opportunity to support with your gift through the Diplomat Athletic Club (DAC), visit Raise Our Game. Once there, you can select any team and make a gift to fund its specific goal. You also can choose to make a general DAC gift via the Athletics Excellence Fund, which will support the hard work of all student-athletes and coaches.

We hope you will consider helping us Raise Our Game this March! Gifts made to Raise Our Game between now and March 11 will count toward F&M's Day of Giving totals.
