Responding to an Emergency

Franklin & Marshall has a comprehensive Emergency Response & Crisis Management Plan that will be activated in case of a crisis situation.  Please note:  viewing The Plan requires authorization using your Franklin & Marshall NetID and password.  You are urged to become familiar with the information contained herein.

In the event of a crisis, or a when a mass notification is deemed necessary, a team of senior campus leaders initiates this dialog of information sharing.  The Crisis Management Team's  primary focus is to provide leadership during a crisis or ongoing threat.  The Vice President for Finance & Administration will serve as the Coordinator of the Crisis Management Team (CCMT) with the Director of Public Safety as the coordinator's advisor.

The College utilizes a range of tools to communicate with the campus community about emergency or crisis situations.  The specific choice of tool depends upon the severity of the circumstance.  Franklin & Marshall's Emergency Alert is an instant, mass notification system powered by Rave Mobile Safety.  Please learn more about and sign up for the Rave Alert System.  No advertisements or non-emergency alerts will be sent to you.  You must register in order to receive alerts.

Another communication tool is the LiveSafe mobile app that F&M is providing to all students, faculty, and staff for free.  The app provides a quick and convenient way to communicate directly with Public Safety officials, enhancing your overall safety and allowing Franklin & Marshall Public Safety to better protect you.   You must download the app to utilize all of the features.  Instructions can be found here.
