Social Media Feeds

Social media feeds can be used to keep your Pulse section up to date with sites you already update. You can have a feed linked to a Facebook page, Twitter acount, Tumblr, or Flickr set.

The first steps are the same for all of the feeds. First, scroll down to the bottom of your page where the Pulse feed is and click ADD PULSE SECTION.

These buttons will appear:

Choose one of the three layout options and the next screen will come up. If you selected one of the layouts with 2 columns, click od the ADD CONTENT button on whichever side you want your feed to be. 

N.B. Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr feeds can only be shown in thin sections; therefore, if you want one of these feeds, you must choose a split column layout.

Now click ADD CONTENT. Then select which type of feed you want. 

 

 Flickr

  • Social 1

You can make a Flickr feed by connecting it to a Flickr set. Flickr feeds can be in any column size. To start, click on FLICKR.

This window will come up:

1. Set URL - Copy and paste the URL of your Flickr set here

2. Number of Photos - Enter the number of pictures you want to be displayed from your set. These will be the most recently uploaded pictures, and update as you add pictures to your set. If you want to show the full set, leave this space blank.

3. Show Descriptions - Choose whether you want the descriptions of your pictures from Flickr to be shown.

4. Save Changes - Click here so save your changes and create your Flickr feed.

 

Twitter

  • Social 3

You can make a Flickr feed by connecting it to a Twitter account. Twitter feeds can only be in small columns. To start, click on TWITTER.

This window will come up:

1. Twitter Username - Enter the username of the Twitter account you want to connect.

2. Filter Tweets by Hashtag - You can choose to display only tweets from you account with a certain hashtag by entering it in here.

3. Limit Number of Tweets - Enter the number of tweets you want to appear on your feed. The most recent ones will be shown and the feed will update when you tweet.

4. Save Changes - Click here to save your changes and create your Twitter feed.

 

Facebook

  • Social 5

You can also link a Facebook page to a feed. It must be a Facebook page; you cannot link a Facebook group or person to a feed. Facebook feeds can only be in small columns. To start, click on FACEBOOK.

 

This window will come up:

1. Facebook URL - Enter in the URL of your Facebook page.

2. Number of Posts - Choose the number of posts you want to display. You can choose a maximum of 25.

3. Save Changes - Click here to save your changes and create your Facebook feed.

 

Tumblr 

  • Social 7

You can create a feed for your Tumblr page. A Tumblr feed can only created on a small column. To start, click TUMBLR. 

This window will come up:

1. Tumblr URL - Enter the URL of your Tumblr page.

2. Number of Posts - Choose the number of posts you want to be displayed. This will show the most recent posts.

3. Save Changes -  Click here to save your changes and create your Tumblr feed.
