Why did you decide to attend F&M?

When I first visited F&M, I instantly fell in love with the campus and knew that this was the school for me.

What are your favorite memories of your time on campus?

Sitting on the patio outside of Jazzman’s between classes with my friends.

What activities did you participate in as a student?

I was involved in many activities while at F&M, including Chi Omega, Blue & White Society, ALOT (Alumni Leaders of Tomorrow), and the John Marshall Pre-Law Honor Society.

Tell us a little bit about your career path and your current job.

After graduating, I joined Teach for America as a 2013 corps member and taught Middle School Social Studies in the South Bronx for three years. I found that I enjoyed effecting change at the school level, rather than being at the front of the classroom. Now, I’m working as a strategic fundraising consultant, where I work with nonprofit organizations to help them manage their fundraising campaigns and further their missions.

Do you have any activities or hobbies you do outside of work?

I love traveling, skiing and doing crossword puzzles.

Why did you decide to volunteer for your alma mater?

I feel that it’s important to give back to an institution that gave so much to me.

What would you say to fellow alumni who are on the fence about volunteering with F&M?

It’s a great way to connect with people. Even though everyone is coming from different places, we all have at least one thing in common. As a result, volunteering allows one to both give back to the F&M community as well as network with fellow F&M alumni to forge meaningful, lasting connections.

Do you have a favorite moment/highlight of your time as a volunteer? If so, what was it?

I’m not sure that I have a favorite memory, but I always enjoy hearing alumni from all classes exchanging stories about when they were at F&M.

Favorite book or quote?

"The Great Gatsby"

Interesting fact/something people might not know about you?

I have been to 35/50 states and plan to visit all 50 before I'm 50 years old.
