Jennifer Rupert Assistant Director of Career Development

Jennifer (she/her) joined Franklin and Marshall in 2022 as Assistant Director of Career Development. She has also served in career development and student advising at The New School/Parsons School of Design, New York University, Virginia Tech Computer Science and James Madison University. Areas of special interest and experience include visual arts and design, computer science, international affairs, social justice and inclusion, and the environment. She has a Masters in Counseling from New York University, a Masters in International Intercultural Management from The School for International Training in Vermont, and a Bachelor's in Cultural Anthropology and Psychology from Hunter College in New York.

Jennifer’s advising philosophy is all about helping people benefit from exploration and own the value of their individual experiences and choices. She is a great person to speak with if you are feeling unsure. She is also a great person to ask questions about ADD/ADHD, emotional challenge/anxiety, LGBTQIA, first generation, the female experience, and other inclusion/difference topics as they relate to exploration and work.

Favorite volunteer experience: National Park Service Natural Resource Management, counting bugs in traps, maintaining trails (digging), and helping preserve a historic building at Antietam National Battlefield (also digging).

First internship: Berlitz Cross-Cultural, conducting research and preparing training materials for cross-cultural consulting of corporate and governmental staff and families moving abroad or coming to the U.S. from abroad.

Fun Fact: During a gap in college, Jennifer worked as a messenger at the United Nations.
