Mike VitlipDirector of Legal & Government Professions Advising

Michael Vitlip, J.D., currently serves as F&M’s Director of Law & Government Professions Advising in the Center for Career & Professional Development. In this role, he helps to connect students interested in careers in law and/or government with relevant peers, alumni, and employers, as well as providing guidance and advice on entry into law school and careers in the legal community or government sectors. 

Michael comes to the role having previously served as F&M’s Director of Legal & STEM Professions Advising from 2018 to 2025. Prior to his arrival at F&M, Michael previously worked at Drexel University, serving as the Pre-Law Advisor in the Steinbright Career Development Center, the Head Coach of Drexel Mock Trial, and an adjunct professor in the Philosophy and Political Science departments. Michael has been a highly involved member of the pre-law advising community, previously serving as a board member and President of the Northeast Association of Pre-Law Advisors (NAPLA) and a board member and Chair of the Pre-Law Advisors National Council (PLANC). 

Prior to beginning his career in higher education, Michael received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Note Dame and his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law – Camden. He worked in a variety of roles in the legal sector, including a county prosecutor’s office, a small, general practice law firm, and a large law firm (working in mass-tort defense).
