Biography

Vail is a practicing choreographer, performer, and improviser who has been dancing since she was six years old.  She is a founding member of critically acclaimed New York City-based Yanira Castro | a canary torsi, with whom she has performed, toured and taught extensively since 1995.  Vail is also a co-founding member of the Architects, a performance improvisation ensemble, with whom she teaches, creates, and performs both choreographed and improvised work. She has worked with a variety of choreographers, and has collaborated with filmmaker Jeremy Moss since 2012—their dance films have been screened in festivals around the world. 

Vail teaches master classes and performs her own choreography near and far.
