Rob retired in 2016. Since Covid struck, he is rarely found in the department. He still serves on the Board of the Society of Archaeological Sciences, and will be co-chairing a symposium at the 2023 Society for American Archeology national meeting. He has combined his hobby and professional background with two topical stamp collections focused on the International Geophysical Year of 1957-58, and on North American earthquakes. He organized a workshop at the 2022 Northeastern section meeting of the Geological Society of America on geophilately, and will present at  the national GSA meeting of 2023 on using geophilately as a means of informal Earth science education.
