In Armenian Zulal means clear water. The trio takes Armenia's village folk melodies and weaves intricate arrangements that pay tribute to the rural roots of the music while introducing a sophisticated lyricism and energy. The music celebrates the trials and joys of old Armenian village life -  budding romances in elevated gardens, disappointments of hapless suitors, secret messages placed upon the Western winds, and moonlit faces of shepherd boys and their brides.
This concert is part of the Franklin & Marshall College's commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War I.
