F&M Women & Philanthropy

F&M Women & Philanthropy is a tribute to the legacy of alumni who identify as women and is an endorsement of their role in F&M’s future.

Empowering Women Leaders for F&M's Future

Franklin & Marshall needs women leaders now more than ever before: As College leaders, acting as stewards for F&M today and for the decades ahead. As scholars, artists and researchers, asking questions that will shape business, define industry and celebrate culture. As emerging thinkers and agents of change, challenging each of us to do more and to do better.

Today, F&M is a more vibrant and enriching community thanks to the women who defied precedent and established our College as one that is stronger thanks to coeducation. Women have built upon an incredible tradition of academic excellence, propelling F&M to the top ranks of the nation’s greatest institutions.

Among those leaders are F&M's first cohort of full-time undergraduate women. In 1969, women enrolled as first-year students, and in 2023 we celebrated the 50th anniversary of their graduation.

"Franklin & Marshall women are leaders—they always have been, and they always will be. It’s up to us, as alumnae, to affirm the legacy of the women who went before us and to secure a strong future for the women who will follow in our footsteps."

Celebrating Women Who Shape Our Story

Each F&M community member can point to a woman who inspired, challenged and celebrated them. Now is the moment to consider the women in your F&M experience who are central to your personal story and to your relationship with our College.

Alumni, parents, faculty, professional staff and friends who support F&M Women & Philanthropy are invited to make their gift commitments in honor of a woman who shaped their life — faculty mentors, coaches, friends, family members and other alums. Honor those that came before us, those who stand beside us and those who will continue to shape the future of F&M.

"Women often have a very distinct relationship to philanthropy and a very different perspective on what it means to establish a legacy. The future of institutions as venerable as Franklin & Marshall depends on the support of those women and their commitment to an outstanding undergraduate experience."
