Zeshan Ismat (Associate Professor of Geosciences), Amelia Rauser (Professor of Art History) and Mark Villegas (Assistant Professor of American Studies) will present a discussion on:
Defining Cultural Appropriation:  Global Perspectives
Concerns and discussions about cultural appropriation are everywhere, especially with the rise of social media. But defining what is cultural appropriation or misappropriation can be complicated, especially in light of enduring power differentials. Come participate in a discussion reflecting on cultural appropriation from a global perspective.
Global Lunches are informal talks and q&a where staff, faculty and students come together to learn about a topic that has an international dimension. Lunch is on a first-come, first served basis, no response necessary.
