Minor in Islamic and Middle East Studies

Students with an interest in Islamic and Middle East Studies should develop a list of six courses with a focus on Islam and the Middle East with the guidance of a faculty member who teaches in the field. This list must be approved by both the faculty adviser and the Director of International Studies.  The Director must sign the minor declaration form for the Registrar's Office. Once the form is signed and submitted, the Director of International Studies communicates the list of approved courses to the Registrar.

The approved list must include at least four courses completed on campus, and at least two courses at the 300-level or higher.

Students will find a selection of courses in Islamic and Middle East Studies across the following departments: Anthropology, History, Music, and Religious Studies.

Students who wish to pursue language study may declare an area studies minor with a focus on Arabic or modern Hebrew
