Summer Connections & Fall Preparations

With a new semester on the horizon, we're excited to share how the Center for Career & Professional Development has connected with Diplomats over the summer while preparing for your student's return to campus in just a few short weeks.

F&M New York City Networking Event

In July, The Center for Career & Professional Development partnered with the Office of Alumni Engagement to offer current students the opportunity to network with F&M alumni in New York City. This event was hosted at Kohlberg Kravitz Roberts & Co. by Ken Mehlman ’88, and gathered Diplomats together four to 40 years after their time at F&M to network with current students living and interning in the NYC area. Advisers from the Career Center offered expert networking tips to all student attendees, which were put into practice at the event. Students can look out and look forward to more regionally centered opportunities to network with the F&Mily in the future!

True Blue Internship & Career Fair

Our annual True Blue Internship & Career Fair will be held from noon to 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 5, in Mayser Gymnasium. Employers from all over the state, country and world will be on campus to recruit our talented F&M students for internships and full-time careers. We enthusiastically encourage all parents in our F&Mily to share the 2025 True Blue Internship & Career Fair with your human resources department so your company can register for our internship/career fair and recruit at F&M!

Where Did You Intern this Summer?

The Center for Career & Professional Development wants to hear from students about their summer internship experiences and the impact they had in those roles. Please remind your student to respond to this survey so we can learn more about and celebrate their summer of professional growth!

Recruitment Session with Prudential Insurance

One event students interested in careers in business and finance anticipate each summer is our annual recruitment session with well-established F&M alumni at Prudential Insurance. Prudential is a global leader in the financial services, managing over $1.8 trillion annually. Learn about the prestigious summer 2026 internship program; similar programs have allowed generations of F&M students to secure successful careers at this esteemed organization immediately upon graduating. Students may RSVP for the session via Ampersand.
