Supporting the Class of 2026
Every spring is bittersweet for our campus community. While it's always difficult to bid farewell to graduating seniors, members of the career advising team are particularly thrilled to learn about the great places Diplomats land after graduation. We are also fully engaged in working with those who are still formulating and finalizing those plans. If your senior tells us at graduation rehearsal that they are still open to discovering opportunities, they'll receive consistent and personalized outreach from a career adviser throughout the summer and fall. We welcome them to continue to work with us!

Career Center “Summer Hours”
The Center for Career and Professional Development will be open and will operate at full capacity all summer. We know career discernment and professional development doesn't take a break, and we're here to continue to provide expert advice, connections and resources Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Students are encouraged to make virtual or in-person appointments with the director of their chosen career community(s) – Health, Law and Government; Business and Finance; Social Impact and Creative; or STEM – on the Career Center Google Site, and to watch their email for opportunities and offerings we’ll share throughout the summer. Students can log into the Career Center Google Site using their F&M Gmail account.
Summer Experience Funding
More than 100 students were awarded compensation to fund unpaid/underpaid internship, research, and professional certification training experiences this summer through the Career Center. A good portion of these funds come from donations and endowments provided by F&M's generous alumni.
Summer Experience Survey
As experts on F&M resumes, we know the experiences that students engage in over the summer are exceptional. Please help us learn more about what your Diplomat is accomplishing this summer at their internship, job, volunteer experience, or research appointment by encouraging them to complete the Career Center's Summer Experience Survey.
Night of Networking Was a Success
We all know how important conversations and connections are to a person's career trajectory. The Career Center was delighted to host its signature "Night of Networking" event on campus April 10, facilitating connections among current students and alumni established in a wide range of industries. This event allowed 200 Diplomats to connect over mocktails and professional goals. In a post-event survey, 100% of students reported the event helped them practice their networking skills, and 96% credited this event with improving their confidence in their ability to network effectively. Go Dips — and many thanks to everyone who participated!
