Alex Woodend '10 took Spanish every semester at Franklin & Marshall and studied abroad with IES in Madrid. After graduation he worked in politics in DC then did a master's in Asian Studies at Columbia University where he studied Chinese literature. Since then he's used his language abilities to translate several novels, including The Captain Riley Adventures by Spanish author Fernando Gamboa. He now lives in Brooklyn and is at work on translations, essays, and original fiction.
