F&M Elects New Members to Board of Trustees and Honors Emeriti Trustees

The Franklin & Marshall Board of Trustees voted to elect its new members during the Board’s spring meeting. 

The Board is very pleased to welcome Jason Cone ’99, Jennifer Galambos ’88, David Greene, Mary Little ’75, Rob Mullins ’91, and Sam Reiman ’02.

The Board is also glad to welcome Karla Avelino ’01, Alumni Association Board (AAB) President, and Preston Kilgore ’14, AAB Vice President, as ex officio Trustees.

The new Trustees will begin their terms on July 1, and serve under the leadership of incoming Board Chair Matt DesChamps ’93, P’28.

“I am honored to begin my term as Board Chair at such an energizing moment for Franklin & Marshall,” said DesChamps. “As President Rich begins his second year, the College is positioned for tremendous momentum – a trajectory further strengthened by the extraordinary talent joining our Board. These new trustees bring a range of expertise and a genuine love for F&M. I look forward to working alongside them, President Rich and all of my fellow board members as our community embarks upon the next chapter.”

During the meeting, the Board conferred the honor of emeriti status upon four trustees whose dedication and generosity have shaped the College for decades: Board Chair Eric Noll ’83, P’09, Susan Klehr ’73, P’12, Art Taylor ’80, and Colleen Weis ’85.

“It was a privilege to work closely with Eric, Susan, Art, and Colleen in my first year as President,” said President Andrew Rich. “The conferral of emeriti status is a direct reflection of the Board’s collective respect and trust for their colleagues. I look forward to continued work with all four of them, and I am excited to welcome the new members to the Board of Trustees. Their collective leadership and experience will be extraordinarily important to F&M’s next chapter.”

Board of Trustees New Members

F&M is proud to welcome the following recently elected trustees:

Jason Cone ’99
Jason Cone ’99

Jason Cone ’99 is chief public policy officer at Robin Hood and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He previously served as U.S. executive director of Doctors Without Borders.

At F&M, Cone graduated with a double major in biology and government and was a member of Pi Lambda Phi.

Cone has served as a former member of the College’s Leadership Council and a former Sophomore Declaration Dinner speaker. He received an Honorary Degree in 2024 and served as the Commencement speaker. In 2017, he received the Alumni Citation.

Jason is married to Christie Del Rey-Cone, Esq. ’99. His parents, Karen Topping Cone ’74, P’99 and Jeffrey N. Cone ’74, P’99, are also F&M graduates.

Jennifer Galambos ’88
Jennifer Galambos ’88

Jennifer Galambos ’88 is head of school at The Kent Place School. She previously served as director of admissions at Greens Farms Academy.

Galambos graduated from Franklin & Marshall as a sociology major with a minor in history. She was a member of Chi Omega and played varsity women’s tennis for the Diplomats. She also holds degrees from Columbia University and Loyola College in Maryland.

Galambos previously served as a member of F&M’s Leadership Council. She received the Alumni Development Volunteer Award in 2022 and is a member of the F&M Athletic Hall of Fame.

Jennifer’s sister, Katherine Galambos ’20, is also an F&M graduate.

David Greene
David Greene

David Greene serves as the Board Chair of the nonprofit Always Lancaster, which now publishes LNP | LancasterOnline. Greene hosts the acclaimed podcast Left, Right & Center and is an award-winning journalist, having previously served as co-host of NPR’s Morning Edition.

Greene received an Honorary Degree from F&M in 2008. He is a graduate of Harvard University. 

David is married to Rose Previte. His mother, Terry Greene, was a former F&M faculty member.

Mary Little ’75
Mary Little ’75

Mary Little ’75 is a consultant for natural resources and former president and CEO of Mirasol Resources Ltd.

At F&M, Little was a geology major, competed on the varsity volleyball team and was involved with the Dance Club, Geological Society, and cheerleading. She also holds an MBA from the University of Colorado-Boulder and an M.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the University of California-Santa Cruz.

Little serves as a member of the Geoscience Founders Society Board and is a former member of the F&M Alumni Board and a former Day of Giving Ambassador. In 2025, she was named recipient of the College's Alumni Citation for dedicated leadership and service to the community and for her exemplary record of accomplishments in her career field.

Rob Mullins ’91
Rob Mullins ’91

Rob Mullins ’91 is executive vice president and chief strategy & corporate development officer at Moog Inc. He previously served as senior managing director at CSP Associates and as senior vice president of corporate strategy and business development at Lockheed Martin Corporation.

Mullins graduated from Franklin & Marshall as a government major, was a member of Zeta Beta Tau and played varsity lacrosse for the Diplomats. He also holds degrees from the University of London and the University of Pittsburgh. Mullins served on F&M’s Leadership Council and is a former reunion volunteer and Career Services partner.

Rob is married to Suzanne Gregson Mullins.

Sam Reiman ’02
Sam Reiman ’02

Sam Reiman ’02 is director of the Richard King Mellon Foundation and previously served as senior program officer at the McCune Foundation.

At F&M, Reiman majored in Science, Technology and Public Policy (Special Studies), served as president of the Debate Society, and was involved with the Student Managed Investment Portfolio. He also holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Johns Hopkins University.

Reiman is a former F&M regional volunteer and received the Alumni Citation in 2023.

Sam is married to Sandra Reiman.

Karla Avelino ’01
Karla Avelino ’01

Karla Avelino ’01 joins the Board as an ex officio member in her role as president of the F&M Alumni Board. Avelino is a partner at Rogen and Avelino and previously practiced at Kaplan, Klein & Rogen.

Avelino graduated from Franklin & Marshall with a major in anthropology and a minor in psychology and went on to earn her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law.

Avelino is a former Day of Giving Ambassador and a member of the College's 1787 Society.

Karla is married to Ingersoll Avelino.

Preston Kilgore ’14
Preston Kilgore ’14

Preston Kilgore ’14 joins the Board as an ex officio member in his role as vice president of the F&M Alumni Board. Kilgore is deputy chief of staff in the Mayor's Office for the City of Oakland.

At F&M, Kilgore graduated as a sociology major. He went on to earn his graduate degree from the University of San Francisco in Urban and Public Affairs.

Kilgore currently serves as a member of the African American Alumni Council and is a former reunion volunteer.

Preston is married to Madrid Jaramillo-Cattell.

Honoring New Emeriti Trustees

F&M is pleased to confer the title of Emeritus(a) Trustee upon the following trustees:

Eric Noll ’83, P’09
Eric Noll ’83, P’09

Eric Noll ’83, P’09 has been a committed presence on the Board, including service on numerous committees. Most notably, Noll served as Board Chair from 2020-2026 and as Interim President in 2018, his steady leadership helping steer the College through a pivotal chapter in its 239-year history.

Eric is a member of the College’s Founders Society and 1787 Society.

His philanthropy has supported Career and Professional Development, the Harris Center for Business, Government and Public Policy, the Franklin & Marshall Fund, Diplomat Athletics (rowing), the Barshinger Life Sciences & Philosophy Building and the Philadelphia Alumni Writers House Endowment.

Susan Klehr ’73, P’12
Susan Klehr ’73, P’12

Susan Klehr ’73, P’12 served the Board as a Vice Chair and on multiple committees. Klehr chaired the presidential search committee that brought President Andrew Rich to Franklin & Marshall, a process that has set the College on its current path of momentum and renewal.

Klehr received the Alumni Development Volunteer Award in 2008 and the Alumni Medal in 2016. She is a member of the College’s Founders Society, William A. Schnader Society, 1787 Society and Benjamin Franklin Society, and is a volunteer and charter member of F&M Women & Philanthropy.

Her generosity has supported the Klehr Family Endowed Scholarship, the Klehr Center for Jewish Life, the Franklin & Marshall Fund, the Trustee Endowed Scholarship Fund, the Harris Center for Business, Government and Public Policy, the Philadelphia Alumni Writers House Endowment and the Klehr Center for Jewish Life Endowed Directorship.

Art Taylor ’80
Art Taylor ’80

Art Taylor ’80 served the Board across several committees and chaired the Trusteeship & Governance Committee. Taylor co-founded the College’s African American Alumni Council. He is a member of the True Blue Corps.

Taylor received the Bridgett Award in 2024, the Alumni Medal in 2013, an Honorary Degree in 2002 and the Volunteer of the Year award in 1994. He is a member of the College’s John Marshall Society, 1787 Society and Benjamin Franklin Society.

His support has benefited the Black Cultural Center Renovation Fund, the Barshinger Life Sciences & Philosophy Building, the Franklin & Marshall Fund and the DC Seminar Fund.

Colleen Weis ’85
Colleen Weis ’85

Colleen Weis ’85 served the Board across multiple committees, including as Co-Chair of the Student Experience Committee. Weis also served as a Day of Giving Ambassador. She is a charter member of F&M Women & Philanthropy.

Weis is a member of the College’s Founders Society, 1787 Society and Benjamin Franklin Society.

Her philanthropy has supported the Winter Visual Arts Center, the Franklin & Marshall Fund, the Barshinger Life Sciences & Philosophy Building and the Weis Professorship in Judaic Studies.

Reflections on Leadership: Board Chair Eric Noll ’83, P’09

Eric Noll’s relationship with F&M began on a gorgeous spring day in 1978. Almost 50 years later, the alumnus will complete his role as Chair of the Board of Trustees on June 30. “F&M continues to evolve, but its core values have remained the same,” Noll says. “I’d say, without apologies, that serving as Board Chair for this college is one of the great honors of my life.”

Franklin & Marshall College has appointed Matt Thomas '10 as Executive Director of the Ware Institute for Civic Engagement. Thomas, an F&M alumnus and longtime member of the College community, will provide strategic leadership for the Ware Institute as it evolves into an integrated hub connecting co-curricular service and leadership programs with a growing portfolio of community-based learning.

Father and Son Have a Rich Tradition in Academic Leadership

On April 11, Andrew Rich will be inaugurated as the 17th president of Franklin & Marshall College. Andy’s dad, Dan Rich, who had a 50-year career at the University of Delaware (UD), will introduce his son during the F&M investiture ceremony.
