Information about Residential Halls
There are six residential halls on campus. On this page, you will find descriptions of each of these facilities.
PLEASE NOTE: The photos and descriptions below do not reflect that fact that many suites and double rooms have been altered to accomodate single-student housing in the 2020-21 academic year due to precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Primarily first and second year students are housed in these halls that make up Brooks College House. The three-story buildings are co-ed and approximately 208 students are housed here. There are single and standard double rooms in these two halls with gender-neutral bathrooms available. The lower levels of both buildings are primarily sophomore students.
Window blinds are provided on all windows. Because all residence hall rooms are fully furnished, the College does not permit students to bring upholstered furniture to campus. There is a central laundry facility in each building. Each residence hall floor has a lounge equipped with cabinets and a microwave, a study room.
Connecting the halls are the Brooks College House Commons, which includes a lounge, kitchen and classroom.
Typical Room & Furniture
North Benjamin Franklin Hall can house approximately 229 students and is the home of Ware College House. Both first-year and upper class students reside here. This building underwent a substantial building renovation in the Summer of 2016.
Gender-neutral bathrooms are available in this Hall. Window blinds are provided on all windows. Because all residence hall rooms are fully furnished, the College does not permit students to bring upholstered furniture to campus. There is a central laundry facility in the building.
The ground floor of North Ben contains Ware College House Commons, which includes a lounge, kitchen and classroom. Franklin & Marshall's main dining hall is adjacent to North Ben.

South Benjamin Franklin Hall currently houses approximately 226 students and is the home of Bonchek College House. Both first-year and upper class students reside here. This building underwent a substantial building renovation in the Summer of 2015.

Typical Room & Furniture
Schnader and Thomas Halls are sophomore housing annex buildings for the larger college houses. Upper class students may also elect to live in these halls.
Room furniture is movable and window blinds are provided on all windows. Because all residence hall rooms are fully furnished, the College does not permit students to bring upholstered furniture to campus. There is a central lounge and laundry room on the ground floor in each building.
Schnader Hall enjoys a prime campus location. Schnader houses approximately 185 residents and is mostly arranged in co-ed floors with single and double rooms. There are a few single rooms with a private bath in this hall for a student that may need an accommodation.
Thomas Hall houses up to 173 students and is made up of 4-person & 5-person suites. Gender-neutral bathrooms are available in this hall.
Typical Room & Furniture
Roschel College House, completed summer of 2011, houses approximately 184 Roschel College House members. First-year students are centrally located on the north and south halls of floors 2, 3, and 4 in standard double rooms. Gender-neutral bathrooms are available in this hall. Upper class students reside in the suites and apartments flanking the building.
Beds in traditional double rooms and double suites are twin XL. Beds in single suites and apartments are doubles. Window blinds are provided in all rooms. The furniture is not fixed in place and can be moved around. Because all residence hall rooms are fully furnished, the College does not permit students to bring upholstered furniture to campus.
The house has a kitchen on the first floor equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and induction stove. The house also has a common lounge on each floor, and study rooms off of the first-floor Great Room. Every floor has single-gender bathrooms, which are a short walk from each room. Laundry facilities are located on the lower level.
Typical Room & Furniture
Weis Hall houses all first-year members of Weis College House as well as some sophomore, junior and senior members of the house. All floors are co-ed and approximately 166 students are housed here.
The Weis College House Commons was renovated in 2011. It has a large great room, seminar room, living room, and fully-equipped kitchen. The east and west wing on each floor has a small kitchen equipped with cabinets and a microwave. There is a hall lounge on each floor in the center of the building. The rooms in Weis have loftable furniture that can be moved.
Weis Hall rooms consist of single, double, and 4-person suites. Window blinds are provided on all windows. Because all residence hall rooms are fully furnished, the College does not permit students to bring upholstered furniture to campus. Laundry facilities are located on the lower level.
