F&M Topiary

Commencement Details

For parents of graduating seniors, Commencement information has been sent to your student; please remind them to check their F&M email to be sure they don’t miss any key dates or information. We love seeing our seniors take grad photos with their friends across campus. If they're looking for a spot, encourage them to check out the living F&M topiary on the side of Kaufman — it's just coming into bloom! Thanks to F&M Facilities & Management for their thoughtful work.

Summer Move-Out Details

Summer move-out is coming up soon! For many families, that means a happy homecoming and chance for students to regain focus over the summer. Students who live in residence halls must be completely moved out by these deadlines:

  • Undergraduates: Sunday, May 4, by 11 a.m.
  • Graduating Seniors: Sunday, May 11, by 11 a.m.
Planning Ahead

Whether your student lives on campus or off, moving out at the end of the semester will be different from moving in. There’s a lot to think about, like packing, cleanup, storage and shipping. Planning ahead can make all the difference; students want to focus on their exams instead of where to find boxes! If you are visiting or if your student is visiting home before the official move-out, I recommend you start bringing some things home. This will make moving out at the end of the semester much easier for everyone. Many families work together to share a storage unit for the summer if it’s too hard to get everything home this summer. This can be a worthwhile investment for a few families to share.

For students moving to affiliated off-campus housing or staying on campus for summer experiences here in Lancaster, the College offers short- and long-term summer housing options. Your student should be aware of this.

F&M Housing will update students regularly about timing, packing and storage options as well as opportunities to donate items. Your student should look for messages from housing@fandm.edu so they are aware of all important details and dates.
