DEI Conversations in Psychology 

September 30, 2020 - #ScholarStrike. Faculty and students discussed videos pertaining to systemic racism in the U.S. both in terms of broad harms (Redlining, education, and anti-black racism) and psychological responses (Dr. Jennifer Eberhardt: How Racial Bias Works and How to Disrupt It (TED Talk)). 

October 28, 2020 - Anti-racist Mentoring. Faculty shared mentoring experiences, discussed barriers students may face to research opportunities and information about mentoring relationships with faculty, and brainstormed possible routes of transformation for departmental and institutional culture in support of broader inclusivity. Readings discussed: Rules for White Mentors; Ten Simple Rules for Building an Anti-Racist Lab.
