Office of Communications & Marketing
Amplifying the Position and Visibility of F&M
F&M’s Office of Communications & Marketing works with offices across campus to plan and execute strategic marketing and public relations programming. We offer services for reputation and brand management, external communications, social media and multimedia engagement, and media relations. In line with the academic mission and strategic priorities of the College, the Office of Communications & Marketing is committed to projects that strongly position Franklin & Marshall in meeting the following objectives:
- Attracting, recruiting, and enrolling extraordinary student talent
- Demonstrating to wide audiences the ways in which F&M fuels knowledge, discovery and artistic creation
- Engaging external partners — including alumni, parents, foundations, education change-makers and education advocates — in the work of the College
- Conveying the College’s support of learning during and after college
- Showcasing how our students, faculty, and alumni learn, research, experience, and succeed the Diplomat way
- Supporting fundraising efforts to increase F&M’s resources
Media Relations
As part of the Office of Communications & Marketing, Media Relations manages the College’s external news outreach, develops strategies and produces marketing content for media coverage of the College. The Director of Media Relations oversees College interaction with print, online and broadcast media, and works with the Communications team to tell stories through a variety of platforms.
For News Media
The Office of Communications & Marketing is the main point of contact for media inquiries.
The news media is welcome to shoot photos or videos on campus, but they must first contact Director of Media Relations Pete Durantine to assist with photography needs and connect with the appropriate students, faculty or administrators for interviews.
For filming and photography by professional photographers, permission is required from the Office of Communications & Marketing. Please contact Assistant Vice President of Marketing, Content and Creative Jason Klinger for approvals.
