Off-Campus Study, Summer Research, and More
Summer research and coursework can be part of a well-rounded education. In addition to research opportunities at F&M, students may want to consider activities off campus during the summer. On this page you can find a sampling of summer opportunities for research on and off campus, field courses at research stations, and internships. You can learn about more opportunities by looking at fliers posted on the Biology Department bulletin board on the first floor of LSP, as well as by speaking to faculty in the Biology Department. Field Biology, Ecology and Environmental Science
- The Organization of Biological Field Stations gives information on over 200 stations (with programs that may qualify for the HuffnagleScholarship).

- The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History's Research Training Program gives internship experience in many fields of natural history, such as systematic biology, paleobiology, human sciences, and earth and planetary systems.
